MP for Essonne and a Socialist Party figure, Jérôme Guedj announced his candidacy on 5 February 2026 outside any primary. He embodies a republican left, universalist and European, fiercely attached to secularism and the founding principles of the Republic. Against the duel of extremes and the ideological ambiguities of some of his rivals on the left, he claims clarity of values, governmental credibility and a culture of compromise in the service of a social Republic.

Secularism, Republic & human rights
Fiercely defend secularism and fight racism and antisemitism as absolute priorities. Embody an uncompromising republican universalism, rejecting identity-based accommodations as much as security one-upmanship.
Social Republic & tax justice
Combine tax justice with stronger public services to build a true social Republic. Put the redistribution of wealth at the service of the working and middle classes, without giving up economic discipline.
Health & old age
Make strengthening the health system and caring for the elderly an absolute priority. Recruit massively in hospitals, care homes and home-care services, and guarantee universal access to care across the whole country.
A break with the left's excesses
Make a clean break with the ideological ambiguities and conspiracist drift of part of the left. Refuse the duel between extremes by embodying governmental credibility based on clarity of values and ethical responsibility.
Europe & social and ecological emergencies
Defend a strong, progressive European anchoring. Respond to social and ecological emergencies with pragmatism, rallying an electorate attached to republican principles while owning the ambition to govern.
